Do You Know the Benefits of Optomap®?
Alongside annual eye exams, Dr. J. Nardone and Associates provides Optomap®. Optomap® is an amazing, non-invasive technology that allows your doctor to detect signs of disease that might otherwise go unnoticed.
How it Works
The retina covers roughly 65% of your eye’s inner surface area. Although difficult to see during typical examinations, Optomap’s ultra-wide field view scans up to 80% of the retina at one time. This allows for up-close, high-definition, 3D colour images that are displayed on a computer monitor. These can even be recorded for future playback and reference!
Diseases Caught by Optomap®
With Optomap®, your doctor can detect early signs of disease that may impair your vision or lead to blindness. Optomap® can detect diseases such as:
Macular Degeneration
Stroke
Glaucoma
Cardiovascular Disease
Diabetic Retinopathy
Hypertension
Cancers of the Eye
If left untreated, these diseases can eventually lead to blindness. Most likely, you will be pleased to learn that your eyes are healthy and free of disease. But, it’s always good to spot potential issues before they become life-altering problems.
Is it Painful?
As a non-invasive examination, Optomap® is completely pain-free and takes only one minute to perform.
If you are due for an annual eye exam, ask your doctor about Optomap®. When paired with a traditional eye exam, it can help to ensure a lifetime of healthy eyes.
